Review:Stranded by Jessica Frances

I just created a new account on NetGalley because I forgot about my last account up there. Hahaha. Yes, I didn’t that active back then so I often been rejected when I request a book. Honestly, I didn’t how it works completely so I just playing around, hoping my luck will make some authors/publishers approved my request. I’ll change it now. I’ll be more active from now on.

And, thanks to NetGalley, Jessica Frances, dan its publisher which approved my request on this book in exchange for an honest feedback.

At first, I don’t have high hope for this one because at this point I just love reading fluffy-sexy-cute-erotica-contemporary romance with no in-depth topic, moreover some mystery-detective kind of plot. But, in the end I’m kinda drowning on this story.

I love Jessica’s writing: easy to follow (for non native-English speaker, like me), not too flowery, good dictions, and nice characters. Well, some of them are not in a good description, but mostly lovable. Of course, thorough out the book I am imagining to have a partner such as a big-sherrif guy like Rocky (I already picturing myself as Conner Sherwood) or a handsome-movie-star like Henry Prince. I do also love having Love Fuller as a best friend.

I’m no interest on instalove, but in here, I am quite understand why there is an instant spark between the two at just earlier chapter. If you like me, please… keep reading, and you’ll get enough explanation about it. And, dang… the F scene at this part is amazing, but in general, I need more of that but this book doesn’t provide more. I hope for the next book, there a lot of steamy scenes on it. Especially, when it become more intense of possibility that Henry Prince really back to the story.

Like I said before, I am lil bit nervous about mystery-murderer case-detective part on this book. Thanks God, it doesn’t that much. Maybe for you who is expecting it as a big part of the story will end up disappointed. I still suggest you to read it, though. It is worth a try.

Lastly, it is an open ending (at least, for me, I am hoping the book will be closed by a phenomenal F scene… but, unfortunately NO) so I really want to read the next book of this In Midsummer series.

4 out of 5 star for this cute-and-smokin hot story.

Review: Gambling Men by Amy Lane

Synopsis:

Quent Jackson has followed Jason Spade’s every move in business and in poker since their first day as college freshmen. Eight years later, when Jace finally decides Quint is the one man he can’t live without, he sees no reason for that to change.

But as much as Jace believes that poker is life, no one gave Quent the same playbook. After their first passionate night, the real game of love and trust begins, and Jace has been playing alone too long to make teaching the rules easy. Jace only speaks two languages: one of them is sex, and the other one is poker. Between the two, he needs to find a way to convince himself to take a chance on love—and Quent to take a chance on him. It’s a lucky thing they’re good at reading the odds, because they’re playing for keeps, and this is one high-stakes relationship that’s definitely worth the gamble.

It’s the first ARC that I received on Netgalley and I am really happy that my request to read this one is approved by Dreamspinner Press who is provided this book. Thank you!

Amy Lane is one of my favorite writer. I adore her writing because it’s always touchy story yet heartwarming. She knows how to make me happy by giving me a mixed of sweet, funny, and HOT scene all over the book.

Before I start reading it, I never expected to get this kind of beautiful story behind of poker game. I thought Amy will only give me one dirty story about having sex on poker table. No, she doesn’t do that. She gave me more than that. Yes, there is a making-love scene on poker table but she also give me a bunch of romantic and contemplative situation around the two main actors here, Jason “Jace” Spade and Quentin “Quent” Jackson.
